Parent Teacher Association

Mount House Parent Teacher Association

The school has a Parent Teacher Association (PTA) where all parents, guardians and carers of current students, and school staff are also members.

The aim is of the PTA is to advance the education of students in the school in particular by:

  • Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school
  • Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the students.

The PTA contributes to the school community and offers another opportunity for any of its members to be involved in school life and support the school’s efforts. They organise a range of social opportunities for the Mount House family to come together and get to know each other over the course of the year. A variety of events have been held including a Summer Fair, Christmas Fair, Quiz Night, Bingo Night and more recently a Silent Auction.

Previously, a sponsored Moveathon was organised, which promoted the benefits of physical activity. Throughout the day, each year group participated in non-stop movement on the Multi Use Games Area with a personal trainer and the School Games staff. Students raised over £2,000, which was used to buy new outdoor tables to use in our beautiful school grounds. We are looking forward to running the event again in the new Michaelmas Term.

Funds were also raised for other items and activities such as new water fountains, an Easter event and Christmas and Summer Fair fun and games. All funds that are raised from events benefit the students and support the School objectives and is done through a process of consultation with the School and the PTA Committee.

The PTA also supports School functions such as open mornings, drama productions, Spring concerts and the annual sports day.
