Curriculum KS4 and GCSE Results

The curriculum in Key Stage 4 broadly follows the National Curriculum, while retaining flexibility where appropriate. The school aims to provide a broad and balanced curriculum and strives to develop each individual to their full potential – valuing talents and responding to specific needs.

At Key Stage 4, pupils in Years 10 and 11 will study 10 GCSE subjects. There is a core curriculum of English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, at least one modern foreign language, at least one humanities subject (history, geography or religious studies) and Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics as either separate subjects or as the dual award). Pupils are set according to ability in the core subjects and also choose from the following options: Art, Business, Classical Civilisation, Drama, Computer Studies, Music, Physical Education, and Textiles.
