Scholarships for Years 7, 8 and 9

Mount House offers a small number of scholarships each year to students who demonstrate strong academic ability as well as a commitment to the wider life of the school through the co-curricular programme, particularly in sport and the creative and performing arts.

Scholars are required to work hard, to contribute positively to the life of the School, and to be a credit to the School. Scholars are expected to act as role models to other students by adhering to the School’s required standards of conduct and Mount House School Values.

Scholarships can either be honorary and come with no monetary value, or they can be worth up to a maximum of 20% of the annual fee. Mount House School has a limited budget for scholarships, and applications for monetary awards should be made between 1st January and 1st March.  Applications outside this window can only be considered if there are if funds still available.  Scholars will meet termly, as a group, with the Head, and will have a 1:1 review during the Summer Term each year.

In the unlikely event that a student does not live up to the expectations of our scholars, the School reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship.
If your son or daughter would like to be considered for a scholarship, please forward a hand-written letter of application from the student, explaining why they believe they could be a Mount House scholar. This should be no more than one side of A4.

Applications can only be made by students at the point of application for a place at Mount House.

Applications should be sent to
