Scholarships

Academic Scholarships for Years 7, 8 and 9

Who can apply?

Mount House offers a small number of scholarships each year to students who demonstrate strong academic ability as well as a commitment to the wider life of the school through the co-curricular programme, particularly in sport and the creative and performing arts.

What are the expectations?

Scholars are required to work hard, to contribute positively to the life of the school, and to be a credit to the school. Scholars are expected to act as role models to other students by adhering to the school’s required standards of conduct and Mount House School Values. Scholars will meet termly, as a group, with the Head, and will have a 1:1 review during the summer term each year. In the unlikely event that a student does not live up to the expectations of our scholars, the school reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship.

What value are the scholarships?

Scholarships can either be

  • honorary (i.e. with no monetary value) or
  • worth up to a maximum of 20% of the annual fee.

How can I apply for a scholarship?

Applications for scholarships should be made between 1st January and 24th February for the following September.  Applications outside this window can only be considered if there are if funds still available.

If your son or daughter would like to be considered for a scholarship, please forward a hand-written letter of application from the student, explaining why they believe they could be a Mount House scholar. This should be no more than one side of A4.

Applications can only be made by students at the point of application for a place at Mount House. (e.g. before they start at Mount House School as a student).

Please send your application to admissions@mounthouse.org.uk
