Welcome to the Mount House School Admissions Team Karen Harris, Fiona Coope and Karen Goodall.

We personally handle all applications at Mount House and our aim is to make the admissions process as simple as possible. The steps below show the process you will go through on your journey to Mount House.

Step 1: Visit Mount House

We encourage prospective parents and pupils to see our school during one of our small group Open Mornings, or attend a Virtual Open Morning.  The Open Mornings on site are very restricted due to Health and Safety protocols, so we do encourage as many families as possible to attend our Virtual Opening Morning at this time. Details and dates to book are here

Step 2: Register your application

To start the formal application for a place at Mount House School all families will need to complete an online registration form and pay a registration fee of £75. This entitles prospective pupils to take the relevant entrance assessments and prioritises spaces on Open events.

Step 3: Family Interview

You will receive an invitation for you and your son/daughter to come to Mount House for an interview with our Headmaster and or another senior member of staff.  As a small School we ensure that our Head has completed the family interviews prior to the entrance assessment so that she knows all children who will attend that day.

Step 4: Entrance Assessments

Prospective Year 7 pupils will be invited to sit our Entrance Assessments in the January before they are due to start at Mount House. We assess potential pupils to determine their current academic level and how we can help them to fulfil their potential.  There is a combination of tests and group work as well the opportunity to meet a range of staff and pupils and tour the School.

Our next Entrance Assessments for Year 7 entry will be held in January 2022.

Our next Entrance Assessments for Year 9 entry will be held in January 2022.

Entry into the Sixth Form is by interview and achievement at GCSE level. The minimum entry requirement is five passes at Grades 9 – 6, with a minimum of Grade 7 in the chosen A Level subjects. Candidates who have not taken GCSEs will be asked to sit an Assessment Test.

Step 5: Offer Of A Place

Following the Entrance Assessments, places are offered as soon as possible.
