Admissions

Key entrance points are Year 7, Year 9 and Year 12. Places are offered following participation in our entrance assessments, a family interview with the Headmaster and receipt of a reference from your son or daughter’s current school. Mount House may also accept pupils in other year groups, subject to places being available.

Full details can be found in our Admissions Policy under the ‘About Us‘ section of this web site.

Our aim is to make the admissions process as simple as possible. Please follow the steps below to begin your journey to Mount House.

Step 1: Visit The School

We encourage prospective parents and pupils to see our school during one of our Open Mornings, and then to arrange a private tour during the week to see the school in action.

Email our Registrar to book your place at an Open Morning

Private tours are also available by appointment. Please contact our Registrar.

Step 2: Register For A Place

To apply for a place at Mount House School, please complete our online registration form together with payment of a non-refundable registration fee of £75. This entitles prospective pupils to take the relevant entrance assessments.

Step 3: Family Interview

You will receive an invitation for you and your son/daughter to come to Mount House for an interview with our Headmaster and or another senior member of staff.

Step 4: Entrance Assessments

Prospective Year 7 pupils will be invited to sit our Entrance Assessments in the January before they are due to start at Mount House. We assess potential pupils to determine their current academic level and how we can help them to fulfil their potential.

Our next Entrance Assessments for Year 7 entry will be held on Saturday 9th January 2021.

For entry in Year 9, prospective pupils sit our Entrance Assessments in the February before they are due to start at Mount House.

Entry into the Sixth Form is by interview and achievement at GCSE level. The minimum entry requirement is five passes at Grades 9 – 6, with a minimum of Grade 7 in the chosen A Level subjects. Candidates who have not taken GCSEs will be asked to sit an Assessment Test.

Step 5: Offer Of A Place

Following the Entrance Assessments, places are offered as soon as possible.
