I have been a teacher since 1989. I taught at Queen’s College, Taunton until 1992 and then joined Seaford College near Chichester. I was Head of History and Politics for 24 years and a sixth form boarding housemaster for 13 years. During my time at Seaford I also served as Senior Master (in charge of Teaching and Learning), Head of Sixth Form, Head of Boarding and a rugby and cricket coach. I managed rugby and cricket tours to Australia, New Zealand and Barbados. I was also an officer in the Combined Cadet Force. I spent a year at Westbourne School in Penarth where I served as a boarding housemaster to international students.

I am a published author and during the holidays I am writing a book on historical psychology. I enjoy reading, especially P.G. Woodhouse and political and historical biography. I am a member of the Woodrow Wilson Society and I enjoy military history. I have a passion for sport with a particular interest in Test Cricket. I am also a supporter of Spurs and Cambridge United. I enjoy visits to the theatre and travelling to interesting locations around the world, especially the Austrian Alps and the Adirondack Mountains in New York State. My greatest love is walking with Reggie, my Border Terrier!
