ENRICHMENT DAYS

Reflect our commitment to an all-round education as a crucial part of preparation for adulthood. There is one Enrichment day per term and each faculty take out a year group.

CAREERS EDUCATION AND GUIDANCE

Mount House Careers programme engages a rich and exciting variety of speakers to address our Pupils at Mount House. At every opportunity we challenge stereotypes and introduce new ideas/trends in employment. This year we have had speakers from Hotel Management, Cordon Bleu, Scientists, Entrepreneurs and parents address us about changes in traditional jobs and how to be self-motivating and create your own job. Whenever possible we try to include speakers in STEM areas and in what are considered to be male-dominated areas to break through barriers and seize the future.

We are full members of Inspiring Futures, which provides career and higher education advice, as well as testing, follow-up interviews and online resources. Pupils join the Inspiring Futures scheme in 5th Form and benefit from its guidance until Upper 6th Form.

Study Skills Days take place for all pupils and students and our 4th Form pupils do a period of work experience at the end of the summer term, while Lower 6th Pupils complete a work-shadowing placement.
